About Dr. Hodges

John L. Hodges, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who recently retired after 42 years of service. Dr. Hodges received his PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi after completing a clinical internship at West Virginia University Medical Center. In his practice he evaluated and treated children, adolescents and adults with a wide array of mental health concerns. Dr. Hodges has received a degree in Biblical Studies from Samford University’s Ministry Training Institute. He is an active member of First Baptist Church Pensacola, Florida serving as a deacon, teacher and various committees and ministries of the church. Also, he is a board member for the Children of Christ Home, an orphanage in Haiti.

Dr. Hodges has been blessed with an incredible family. He has been married to his wife Chandra since 1981. She is an art teacher with a unique gift for helping others, especially children and teens, discover their God given abilities to create beautiful pieces of art. John and Chandra have been blessed with two incredible children who have married well. Jenny and her husband, Ben, and 3 boys, Luke, Isaac, and Nate have served as missionaries in Kenya for 18 years. Our son Garrett and his wife Brittany serve at First West Church in West Monroe, LA. Garrett is a student pastor at the church.

In retirement Dr. Hodges hopes to share what he has learned in over 40 years practice as a licensed psychologist and student/teacher of the Bible. HIs desire is that this information will assist others in the journey to find contentment in their lives.
